Whilst you and I, dear Audionaut, might not mind the exhilarating thrill of being trapped in the warming glow of a tractor beam, zooming through the atmosphere on the dime of the Grays as ambrosia flowed and copious delicacies were offered at no expense other than the expectation that you abstain from ruining the good time. But, to the people of Earth (Milky Way Galaxy), these encounters were the stuff of nightmares. Nowhere in the Universe did the prospect of a good time matter so little than to the race of bipedal skinwalkers known as humans. Red Menace, the perpetrators of some of the greatest abductions in history, were tickled by the reactions of humans to their offer of tasty beats and even tastier treats. Often horrified, mostly stunned, sometimes dripping with foul-smelling excretions, humans became their favorite target, blasting across Earth daily, zapping humans, cows, goats, dogs, whatever happened to be in their way. However, one such encounter would become the stuff of nightmares, beginning with the innocent abduction of a warplane loaded with a nuclear fusion missile. Unbeknownst to the crew of the Red Menance, the friction caused by their tractor beam ignited the weapon, blasting the human-made vehicle into the very atoms it sought to split. While the Grays’ ship survived, its own reactor was severely damaged, launching the vessel straight into the Earth. What transpired next was a white-knuckle exercise in survival. From the brutal, maroon explosion of the nuclear missile, to the multicolored skirmishes that lit up the forest where they had landed, the Grays tore through Earth’s deciduous backcountry, seeking components for their communicators and a connection to their mothership. I don’t have to tell you, dear Audionauts, about what fate eventually befell the crew. Still, the members who comprised the tribute band of Red Menace would never forget, discharging their debut album with a thrashing anger vilifying the humans who stopped at nothing to squash the so-called “invaders.” Red Menace is an absolute thrill ride and the epic tale of fun-seeking Grays who took it one step too far and paid a price far exceeding their actions. Their trademark solos will lift you from your listening station like a tractor beam for your brain, inviting you to recall the gods of wrath and war as you, in Gray fashion, pour one out for the legends we lost along the way.
