They say an eternity in Night City can either be a day or a lifetime. The scum of the Universe called it home, trading on the Black Market, imbibing substances of death-defying highs and gutter-ending lows. The perpetual night of the city was enhanced by the smog and the activities of various clubs and dive bars, the greasy kitchens, and substance dens. Now, dear Audionauts, it is possible to end up in Night City by accident. The layover for about three percent of all intergalactic travel was the very reason the city continued to exist. The ITA (Intergalactic Travel Authority) built a refueling station on what they assumed was fertile land. As soon as they had cut the ribbon and ships began landing, the sleaze began their journey. Creatures needed food, right? They needed liquids for nourishment, and games for entertainment? You can imagine where things tumbled from there. Vahana, on her way to Rygels X and XI to promote her sophomore album A Murder of Crows, was swept up in a layover of blood, guts, and beauty. Underneath the rough outer shell of soot was a rhythm to the city. It may have been drenched in neon, smelled like rendered fat, and rained more days than not, but it was a wonder to behold. It policed itself, delivering thumping beatdowns to secure peace while the wailing nightclubs kept folks off the streets, culminating in privacy and safety. Its reputation was well earned, and An Eternity in Night City is both the stereotypes and the reality of the metal jungle. Vahana injects her third album with fear and excitement, beckoning listeners through the curtain with hip-shaking drums and curling synth. Punch your ticket, dear Audionauts, to Night City, just don’t plan to stick around for too long.
