The Great Disillusionment was a progressive movement among certain sectors of the Universe. One that sought to illuminate those who had lost their way. The aforementioned disillusionment was due in part to the intergalactic ban on music by Lord Prosect, certainly an event to put a damper on everyday life. Another contributing factor was the rising denigration of the creatures of the Universe who had made it their life's work to be in service of others, be it in the traditional trade and manual labor service, medicine, science, etc. Wages remained stagnant while the Boards of conglomerate giants squeezed every last Space Buck from the wasted bodies of those whom it fed to its infernal machine. While, dear Audionauts, this "disillusionment" will inevitably last until unintended justice strikes its mighty sword, in the meantime, we have Wavefront's unparalleled 5024 album, named after the very movement it sought to destroy, and the tasty beats that have already carried generations of workers from the lunch counters to the crest of equal rights. Wavefront themself had been part of the movement but had become angered by the lack of progress. There needed to be a theme song, a chant, a groove to get the creatures out from the assembly lines and assembling for a better future. They were partly right; several of the singles from The Great Disillusionment were often heard on loudspeakers outside protests and union voting stations, but Wavefront was unaware that they would soon be the face of the movement. An assassin's laser-guided neuron projectile took Wavefront's life one cloudy afternoon. They were not in front of hordes of followers or at the feet of the halls of justice. They were walking home after visiting with local leaders about a wave of illnesses that had befallen the children of several nuclear waste developers. The tragic end meant we were robbed of more beats and more enthusiasm, but Wavefront's demise only threw gasoline on the already raging inferno, leaving the greedy overlords of the Universe to finally begin shaking in their boots.
