The sound of hyperspace (the period after breaking the speed of light but before the speed of plasma) is unique to the individual that experiences it. This is something we all learn at even the youngest stages of development. But it is equally unique in that not all of us get the privilege of gripping our fingers/tentacles/hooves into the nearest armrest as light and time bleed into one another, the colors of the universe converging into a single point and a million points, all at once. For those who have yet to slice through the void at wondrous speeds, Pilot's License, the nom de guerre of a former military pilot who claims to have been part of the Intergalactic Space Force (ISF), decided to record his experiences confined to the cockpit of a Personal Attack Vehicle (PAV). By reversing his communications module to export rather than import, he manipulated the signal that would have alerted his command that he was entering hyperspace. He would make multiple runs by manipulating speed, angle, and location to tweak the music permeating from the universe, stretching and bending to his will. The result was After Burnt, a collection of eight songs built from the ground up with experimental perfection; each track fine-tuned at the expense of Pilot's License's health. For, you see, each hypersonic trip caused much stress to his body (and the dilation effect of traveling four years for every forty seconds in hyperspace) that shortened his life by some 60 years. After passing at 27, his next of kin (who turned out to be his great-great-grand niece and nephew) found the recordings on a tape deck packed in his foot locker. Almost thrown away to make room for a really cool pinball machine, his family played the haunting tape and became mesmerized by the tasty beats and the copious notes he had taken to perfect his unique sound. We hope, dear Audionauts, that you can experience hyperspace at least once in your life, but until then, After Burnt is the best way to travel between the stars.
