Schmog

Original Release Date: 09/19/5420 (0420 AM)

The entire Smoke Screen Movement was singlehandedly revived by Purple Nebula's prodigal son Schmog (born Cloud Schmogisborg). While some two millennia had passed since the fog-heavy beats of Smoke Screen legends The Vapor Bots and Blinded By Snow, the dream they had achieved was far from over. Enter Schmogisborg, who stumbled upon these classic records in the attic of his great-grandmother's abode and, according to friends, would not shut up about them. As a Mystic, Schmogisborg was prone to growing in size as he ingested the air around him, and his excitement produced a reaction that grew him to such heights that his once standard measurement of fourteen Earth feet (and about six Earth feet wide) ballooned to over 114! Afraid that his uncontrollable size would blot out both of the suns closest to the Purple Nebula, concerned citizens organized an instrument drive that gave Schmogisborg an outlet for his obsession with the Smoke Screen Movement. With these instruments, though tiny to him at the moment, Schmog was born, and with it, a return to a seemingly ancient form in his debut Smoke 'Em If Ya Got 'Em. Smooth guitar licks, droning bass, and a crunchy rhythm that was the genre's hallmark meant that you could put your feet, paws, tentacles, or smokey trails up and let the beats soothe the savage beast inside all of us. Eventually, Schmog did return to his normal size, but those who have seen him in concert know what the friendly ball of smoke is capable of.
