Friendly Neighborhood Ghost

Original Release Date: 07/31/2049

Friendly Neighborhood Ghost, or Karl as we know him, despite being a ghost, would always wear his forward-thinking on his sleeve. The past and ghosts themselves were hard things to ignore, but his vision lay in the continued care of his community, Little Ghost Nebula. After the closing of a local drive-in movie theater, Karl put it upon himself to raise funds to reopen it. A summer highlight for his past self and local village youth, the theater was one of the last entertaining staples that made the town habitable. Its closing marked, perhaps, the beginning of the end. After reading the news in the local paper, Karl rushed home and began setting up his equipment. A lover of both film and music, he recorded himself creating the album in the hopes that the film would inspire others to create their own. Rated G was his love letter to film and the fantastical stories that drove his creativity. But it was also about the movie-going experience, the rush of excitement, and the memories that formed from these crucial 90-minute excursions. Laced with high-flying beats and intense passages of toe-tapping melodies, Rated G struck a chord with his community. Not only did the album sell like hotcakes, but the sales were enough to completely transform the rickety drive-in into a wonderland. The first annual Friendly Neighborhood Film Festival was a hit, the grand prize awarded to Karl himself for his debut film It's Showtime! Even bigger hits followed, both for Karl and the drive-in, which still stands today. Rated G was so influential for at least a millennia afterward no film soundtrack was complete without a bit of inspiration from everyone's favorite Friendly Neighborhood Ghost.
