Morpheus Streams

Bloom Field

Original Release Date: 07/01/2199

A small cluster of planets in the Morpheus Constellation are best known for their copious production of opiates and, of course, their psychokinetic properties. Banned in almost every corner of the universe, the plant that originated the substance grew with abandon, blooming in beautiful white petals along the spines of black, gnarled branches. Little did policymakers know, the plant, when unprocessed, was beneficial to almost every creature, no matter their DNA, in fantastic ways. Gone were diseases and defects; even phobias became a thing of the past! However, the effects were only temporary. After a few hours, the maladies would return, and pain would ensue. The members of Bloom Field, their home one of the largest producers of the plant, engaged in ingesting the petals, transforming their nearly incapacitated forms into frenetic music-making tornados. Taking the cure-all on tour with them, eventually, like those who had swallowed the processed pill, they too succumbed to its horrible side effects. What remains is considered one of the most laid-back records the universe has ever seen. Bloom Field was an ode not only to the high but the dizzying low that insisted you ride the stream of delight just one more time.
