Redd Voxx

Original Release Date: 10/09/2877

The Voxxes of Saxxan are quite small. Though there are many subtle sizes, most are no taller than a galactic metre (about two Earth feet). Their diminutive nature directly prevented them, unfortunately, from many authoritative and political positions, which would have otherwise strengthened their community. Known, as well, for their bulbous tails, reddish/ochre fur, and calm, soothing disposition, their legendary and cultural remedies for relaxation were very much lost due to the aforementioned lack of political power. Much-needed communications technology, to connect the Voxxes with vital intergalactic services, were never allocated properly, meaning their homeworld of Saxxan would have to do...for now. Using what little technology they had access to, mostly from starships that had unexpectedly crash-landed in the forests of Northern Saxxan, the members of Redd Voxx took it upon themselves to beam a rudimentary signal out into the universe, hoping that it would be picked up by someone willing to help what few of them remained. That signal, their sophomore album Looks Like Rain, was a breath of fresh air for those who turned their dials to the right frequency. Airy melodies over muffled beats were their specialty, and, dear Audionauts, could those furry beatmakers play! Looks Like Rain was the journey of Redd Voxx and their seemingly idyllic lifestyle, dodging raindrops by hiding underneath mushroom tops; sleeping in hollowed out rock faces; tracking food through dense underground tunnels. The beats resonated with at least one person, an aide to Galactic Representative Btoe Cundrefeete, himself a rather underdog (both in that he was as green as a dwarf star and was in fact a canine inside a space helmet). The aide took the beats to her superior and the strange signal lead them to Saxxan, and, with a little political maneuvering, a satellite communications system capable of bringing aide and supplies to the Voxxes. Redd Voxx were heralded in what was left of their community, but much like an impending rain storm, there was little to celebrate as they reflected on the losses that had led them on their musical journey.
