Profanity Pit

Original Release Date: 10/09/6666 (AM 1666)

Those who have not had the privilege of traveling through the void of space may find the task daunting. Endless, pitch black, cold, silent, it is not chock full of happiness (maybe for some). Nicknamed "The Abyss" by weary adventurers, the risk certainly does not outweigh the reward of exploration, but, nevertheless, it remains very much a field of horror with no escape. Profanity Pit had ventured outside of their home planet, Drüük of the DG-3NT System, only once, and, dear Audionauts, did this have a profound effect on them. Clinging to their First Class seats, the void sent such a chill down their collective vertebrae that they immediately sought refuge in the water closet (which only held one person, but someone they all squeezed in). With a handheld recorder, they hummed the melody of the entirety of their sophomore effort, Escape The Abyss. Though the album is only some 20 Earth Minutes long, it, much like the void of space, had a lasting effect. Once they landed, they rushed to the nearest recording studio and laid the tracks down one by one, using their rudimentary recording as a guide. Now, those who swore that nothing good would come of space travel had an auditory representation of their fears. However, so catchy were the beats, that it actually had the opposite reaction originally intended. Soon, every creature from the Andromeda to the Zornash was selling their worldly possessions for a chance to ride the wave of space travel. This, of course, inflated the industry and caused a massive bubble in the space aeronautics community. Many lost their jobs, their homes, and their dignity. Profanity Pit has apologized for the album, though they could not have known its power, and vowed never to produce another, fearing it would cause yet another shockwave in the cold vastness of The Abyss.
