Double V

Original Release Date: 07/17/3010

Escaping from the scene of a crime takes precision, skill, and forethought. Across the universe, when daring heists are committed, no one is more important than the getaway pilot. Tasked with ferrying thieves, criminals, and colorful lowlifes to cloaked safehouses is no easy feat. However, Ra and her vessel Outrunner were the best at what they did. Hailing from the warm climates of El Vi, meant her leathered and scaled exoskeleton could withstand the heat of hyperspeed, the sharp turns of asteroid belts, and landing her vessel in the most precarious of locales. The duo of Double V, known for their pounding bass undercurrent and high-pitched tones and the fact that both their first names started with the Earth letter "v," were but along for the ride when Ra came calling. Veit and Vone were working as gophers (glorified assistants) in a recording studio near El Vi. The recording booth was rather quiet that day until a band of masked thieves raided the studio, stealing hours of tape and the hopeful beats of up-and-coming artists. Double V was swept up in the melee, taken hostage, and ferried aboard the Outrunner. Ra cared little for hostages, not in any insensitive way; she just believed it was immoral to take them. Forced to care for the frightened employees, Ra plotted a way to get them out. Take note, dear Audionauts, that in the throes of dangerous villains, Double V was also plotting. Edge of Time was their ode and absolute homage to Ra and Outrunner. Literally taken to the edge of the known universe (at least as far as we can go with clearance), Double V witnessed the glory of getting away. Zipping through the daring obstacles of elements, rocks, and greed, they told Ra's tale firsthand, with only a tiny bit of embellishment. Ra refused the glory, as all good getaway pilots do, but her quest to free them and return the stolen beats made her a hero to all musicians, an ally in the dark. Edge of Time would become the hymn of other drivers, attempting to emulate her runs, and find the truth the in the dirty work. Double V would eventually purchase the very studio they had nearly laid their lives down for and assist in encouraging new artists, weaving the tales of Ra and her vessel, destined to keep the tastiest of beats safe and sound.
