Previously thought lost to solar exposure and space dust erosion, the full version of Berenices Brew’s hit single Mortar & Pistol is now presented in its full version.
We have known for generations that plants can communicate. Their vast network stretched from the moist soil of the Milky Way to the towering perennials of the Sunflower Belt, and, for generations, our relationship has mostly been one-sided. When small business owners and tea enthusiasts Juniper and Violet Berenice discovered that their greenhouse network of plants could actually vocalize, it seemed trivial to continue to harvest them and dunk their dried limbs in boiling water. Instead, the haunting melodies were converted into signals and repurposed into a collection of eight lamentations and celebrations of everything plant. Discovering that each unique shrub, flower, and tree produced a different sound allowed the former horticulturists to combine thundering beats with echoing harmonies. In order to serve the flora and prevent any animosity, every single root was restored to the ground so that they may live out their days humming to the twin suns that overlooked their valley. Though they did embark on a single tour, plants included, the duo of Berenices Brew realized that the exploitation of the plants could not continue and hung up their instruments for good. Inexplicably their second album, though little evidence supports that a debut of unfinished demos exists, Berenices Brew was lauded for centuries, and still shows up occasionally on Top 10 lists throughout the universe.
Original Database Entry: Combine two parts horticulturists and one part synthesizer and the duo of Berenices Brew was born. Though not nearly as genetically modified as their seemingly endless army of green fans, they managed to finally break the glass (greenhouse) ceiling with their second album, an ode to the ones who inspired them.
